Ethical Requirements for Authors

Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Service, Innovation and Sustainable Development (JSISD) must comply with accepted ethical and professional standards. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all research reported in the manuscript has been conducted in accordance with applicable laws, institutional requirements, and recognized ethical principles.

Research Involving Human Participants

If the study involves human participants, including but not limited to surveys, interviews, questionnaires, experiments, observations, focus groups, or the collection of identifiable personal data, authors must include an Ethics Statement in the manuscript.

Where applicable, the statement should clearly indicate:

• that the research received approval from an appropriate ethics committee, institutional review board (IRB), or equivalent body;
• the name of the approving institution or committee;
• that informed consent was obtained from participants;
• that participant confidentiality and privacy were protected.

When Ethics Approval Is Not Required

If formal ethics approval was not required under the relevant institutional or national framework, authors must clearly state this in the manuscript and briefly explain the reason.

When Informed Consent Is Not Required

If informed consent was not required or was waived, authors must clearly state this in the manuscript and provide an appropriate explanation.

Research Not Involving Human Participants

If the study does not involve human participants, animal subjects, or identifiable personal data, authors should include a brief statement indicating that ethics approval and informed consent were not applicable.

Journal Requirement

JSISD reserves the right to request additional ethical documentation from authors at any stage of the editorial or post-publication process. Manuscripts that fail to provide appropriate ethical information may be returned for revision, delayed in review, or rejected.

Sample Ethics Statement Templates

1. For studies requiring ethics approval and informed consent

Ethics Statement: This study was conducted in accordance with the ethical standards of the relevant institutional and national research committee. Ethical approval was obtained from [name of ethics committee / institution]. Informed consent was obtained from all participants involved in the study.

2. For studies involving human participants but not requiring formal ethics approval

Ethics Statement: This study involved human participants and was conducted in accordance with applicable ethical standards. According to the policy of [name of institution / country / organization], formal ethics approval was not required for this type of research. Informed consent was obtained from all participants, and participant confidentiality was protected.

3. For studies where informed consent was waived or not required

Ethics Statement: This study was conducted in accordance with relevant ethical and institutional standards. Ethical review requirements and consent procedures were assessed in line with [institutional/national framework]. Informed consent was waived / not required because [brief explanation].

4. For studies not involving human participants

Ethics Statement: This study did not involve human participants, animal subjects, or identifiable personal data. Therefore, ethics approval and informed consent were not required.

5. For research using secondary or publicly available data

Ethics Statement: This study was based on secondary / publicly available data and did not involve direct interaction with human participants or the collection of identifiable personal data. Therefore, ethics approval and informed consent were not required.
